Attendance & Leave of Absence

Calwest University attendance requirements and the leave of absence process.

Attendance Requirements

As a fully online university, there are no attendance requirements. Students may work at their own pace and access course materials at any time that suits them.

Leave of Absence

If you have an emergency, an illness, or any other circumstance that may require you to take an extended break from your courses — particularly if it will affect your satisfactory academic progress or your ability to meet the maximum time-for-completion requirements — you should email the registrar and apply for a Leave of Absence (LOA).

During an approved Leave of Absence, you are not considered to have withdrawn from the program. Your enrollment remains active and your progress to date is preserved.

How to Apply for LOA

Send an email to the registrar explaining the reason for your requested leave and the expected duration. All LOA requests are considered on a case-by-case basis.
